MAYREL VALENZUELA

Missionary. Discipler. Passionate Jesus Follower.

I first met God when I was 12 years old, and from a very young age, God was speaking to me about missions. I first got involved in the Church by joining the worship team. Later, I decided to get into the ministry of theatre, which is something I love! I believe that art can be a form of evangelism that is fun, interesting and creative. It allows us to use the gifts, talents and abilities that God has given us.

Getting into Missions

After college, I had the opportunity to go to a life-changing school called the Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM Mazatlan. For me, this was a confirmation of God’s call on my life.

DTS gave me knowledge and understanding on what it really means to fulfill the Great Commission. I realized that God was calling me not only to sow a seed, but to disperse it in wide fields. I obeyed God and prepared myself through another YWAM school, called the WISE School, which stands for Worship, Intercession, Spiritual Warfare and Evangelism. This school is amazing. God gives you the tools necessary to continue with your call and your life.

Best decision I ever made!

Now, I have been involved with full-time missions for 13 years. At first it was difficult, but without a doubt it has been the best decision I ever made, to obey God, know God and make Him known! Life with God is exciting and full – a total adventure!

In this journey, I have served in Haiti, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, in my country Mexico, Brazil, India and in the USA. Not only has it been an opportunity to give to others, but at the same time God has been speaking into my life, extending my vision, and showing me His heart and the truth about things.
